This album is inspired by the practice of Paincajanya: waking up at 5 am for kiirtan and meditation. I love waking at this beautiful hour and singing and meditating on the veranda of our house on the Ananda Kamala Master Unit community on the Sunshine Coast Hinterland of Australia while the sun rises over the trees.
In winter, it may be dark and cold and we don’t glimpse the sun until after meditation. In summer, the sun has already risen by five. I love the changes! Always this time is very special for spiritual practices and the day moves more beautifully when I do this.
The tunes are the album were written mostly during paincajanya, and the cover photo was taken as I finished meditation one morning.
The Baba Nam Kevalam mantra has been given by Shrii Shrii Anandamurti, beloved Guru and founder of Ananda Marga, a universal organisation for self-realisation and service to all. It means “The essence of divine love is all there is” and creates powerful positive spiritual energy.
All tunes composed by Kamala, except Sweetest Baba, composed by Gail Piper and inspired by a tune by Dada Nabhaniilananda.

Meet the Musicians
It was a delight to work with each one of these guys. Each one is as amazing of a person as they are a musician.
